Bound

Created Sunday 01 June 2014

The "Bound" line of spells temporarily summon weapons and armour to equip the caster or their allies.

[NOTE: These spells are not finalized. You cannot take them for the time being.]

Least Bound Weapon

[The main application of this spell is to give access to silver weapons before the characters can actually afford them.]

Conjuration [Summoning]
Sor/Wiz 1
Components: VSF
Casting time: std. action
Range: Touch
Duration: 1 minute/level (D)
Saving throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell resistance: No

The spell summons forth a masterwork alchemical silver weapon. The weapon may be any simple weapon of your choice.

The weapon appears in the hand of the touched creature, ready to use.

The spell does not grant proficiency with the weapon.

If you choose to summon a missile weapon, a quiver or pouch of silvered ammunition appears on the creature's belt. A new piece of ammunition appears every time the creature fires the ranged weapon.

The weapon disappears when the duration ends, or immediately if it leaves the creature's posession (i.e. if they give it to someone else, or are disarmed.)

All ammunition disappears a round after it leaves the creature's hand.

Focus: A razor blade.

Bound Weapon

The weapon may be any simple or martial weapon of your choice.

This spell summons forth a +2 dwemer weapon. The weapon has one of the following enchantments; +1d6 fire, +1d6 cold, or +1d6 electrical.

Bound Armour, Least

Conjuration
Sor/Wiz 1
Components: VSF
Casting time: std. action.
Range: Touch
Duration: 1 minute/level (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell resistance: No

This spell summons forth a masterwork suit of armour made of cloth, leather and iron.

The summoned armour may be studded leather, chainmail, or half-plate. The summoned armour has all the normal characteristics for armour of its type (PHB pg. 123.)

The armour appears on the creature's body (they do not have to put it on.) The armour is appropriately sized for the creature. If the creature was already wearing armour, it disappears temporarily.

The armour disappears when the duration ends., or immediately if it leaves the creature's posession.

Focus: A small steel ring.

Bound Shield, Least

2014-05-21 - new.

Conjuration
Sor/Wiz 1
Components: VSF
Casting time: std. action.
Range: Touch
Duration: 1 minute/level (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell resistance: No

This spell summons forth your choice of: light steel shield, light wooden shield, heavy wooden shield, heavy metal shield, tower shield.

The summoned shield has all the usual characteristics for a shield of its type (PHB pg. 123.) Note that a creature wearing a tower shield suffers a -2 penalty to attack rolls, as usual.

The shield appears on the touched creature's shield arm, ready to use. The shield is sized appropriately for the creature. If the creature was already wearing a shield on their shield arm, it disappears temporarily.

The casting time depends on the type of shield selected. A light shield takes a swift action to summon; a heavy shield takes a standard action to summon; and tower shield requires a full-round action to summon.

The shield disappears when the duration ends.

Focus: A metal button.

2014-05-21 - being able to summon a tower shield on demand is an entertaining trick.

Higher level variants:
Sor/Wiz 2: Bound Shield, Dwemer: The shield is +1 and grants DR 1.
Sor/Wiz 4: Bound Shield, Ebony: The shield is +2 and grants DR 3.
Sor/Wiz 6: Bound Shield, Daedric: The shield is +3 and grants DR 5.
