Nonlethal

Created Monday 02 June 2014

Underwhelm

Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Beguiler 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Components: V, S
Casting time: std. action
Range: Close
Target: one living creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving throw: Will negates
Spell resistance: Yes

Do 1 point of non-lethal damage to the target creature.

Cushioning

Evocation [Force]
Clr/Drd/Wiz/Sor/Brd 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: std. action
Range: Touch
Duration: 1 hour/level (D)
Saving throw: Will negates (harmless, object)
Spell resistance: Yes (harmless, object)

A hazy force cushion forms all around the weapon.

This spell can be targeted on a melee weapon or the ammunition for a ranged weapon (maximum 50 pieces.)

  • The weapon or ammunition deals non-lethal damage instead of lethal damage. The usual attack penalty for non-lethal attacks is removed.
  • The weapon's damage type changes to bludgeoning.
  • The cushioned weapon never scores critical hits.

Material component: A tiny beanbag.

[DM note: The intended use is to allow a non-lethal way of beating things up - but an equally funny alternative would be to stick it to your enemy's weapons.]
